Step 1: Accumulating Materials Before getting started, gather all the required supplies:
- Microfiber cloths
- Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol)
- A plastic scraper (optional)
- Car wash soap
- Water
- Bug & tar remover (optional)
- Car wax or polish
Step 2: Soften Pine Pitch
In order to successfully remove pine pitch, it must first be softened before it can be successfully extracted from its location.
For best results, soften it by wetting or misting with water prior to removal and softening using microfiber cloths with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), plastic scraper (optional), car wash soap with water as the medium. Eventually you should be left with either bug & tar remover (optional) and car wax or polish (all optional).
Soften the Pine Pitch Pine pitch tends to harden as it dries; therefore before removal you should aim at softening it first before any serious attempts are made at removal.

For stubborn sap spots, use a plastic scraper (such as an old credit card) to carefully lift away sap and then scrape at light pressure using alcohol to dissolve any remaining chunks. Be mindful not to forcefully scrape as this could damage paint surfaces and let alcohol do most of its job!
Step 4: Clean the Area
Once all sap has been eliminated, wash the affected area with car wash soap and water in order to eliminate any remaining traces. Use a soft cloth or sponge and ensure to rinse completely with fresh water afterwards.
Step 5: Reapply Car Wax or Polish
Once the area has been cleaned up, it’s advisable to reapply car wax or polish in order to protect the paint of your vehicle and restore its shine. Doing this helps preserve its value as well as keep the shine alive!
